INTEGRIS’ Social Media Marketing Challenges
I started at INTEGRIS in March of 2015. I was hired on to help with marketing strategies for our current customers and INTEGRIS as the company continues to grow. My first project had nothing to do with social media marketing, and I had done very little of it in my past work history. Most of my past marketing experience has been in the restaurant/service industry, and in my case social media was not a main focus. Sure, I had used social media for this type of marketing, but social media marketing wasn’t what it is today, and I didn’t use it to its full potential. And now, with a new company and a new set of objectives, I have had quite a learning experience of integrating social media marketing strategies into my daily routine for the growing company that INTEGRIS is. I will be sharing a few social media related posts in the next week or so in which I’m going to share with you a few tips and tricks I have picked up along the way that has helped INTEGRIS gain a much larger social media presence than when I started. Oh yeah, and I should mention that it’s all been done without paying a cent for any advertising, publishing, or a single post boost!
Now before I get too big of a head here, I have to tell you all that I am still a rookie and I haven’t gained tens of thousands of followers for INTEGRIS…yet. I’ve only been at the social media marketing game for INTEGRIS since May of 2015, and even when I started, I started with just a post or two each week. Maybe a post on our Facebook Page on a Friday, a post on our LinkedIn Page on a Wednesday, a post on Twitter on a Monday….you get the picture. But even though I don’t have the audience attention as some of the big leaguers (I will get us there eventually), I have still come quite a way from starting with virtually no social media presence for INTEGRIS.
With no money in the INTEGRIS marketing budget for social media, I knew I had my hands full. And to be honest with you, I really wasn’t sure where to even start this whole strategy. So, as a marketer, if we are unsure of what to do or where to go….we research! And when I say research, I mean a LOT of research! I can’t tell you how many hours of data gathering and strategy reading I have done over the last few months, and I’m still nowhere close to being done! Social media is an evolving and growing marketing channel, which means us marketers have to adapt to all of those or we get left in the dust.
Over the next few posts, I will be explaining about each of our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn) and the progress we’ve made, how we made that progress, and what tips and strategies we have followed in the process. I promise that I will try my absolute best to keep it as interesting as possible, I don’t want to slap you with boredom! After all, hopefully you’re here to learn a little bit about INTEGRIS, how to leverage your company’s (or your own) social media pages, and enjoy yourself a little bit! More is coming soon!
