INTEGRIS Invited to Congresswoman Bustos Manufacturing Roundtable

On May 28, 2015 INTEGRIS principal, Andy Berberich & and business manager, Eric Myers were invited to attend Congresswoman Cheri Bustos roundtable on manufacturing in Central Illinois. A common goal is to convene industry leaders from the Peoria region to explore challenges, as well as opportunities, to forge meaningful public-private collaborations at the intersection of health care and manufacturing. Invited guests consisted of various parties including economic development, government, education, research, non profits and industry representatives.  Bustos’s two hour roundtable revolved around how Central Illinois could become branded as a high-tech manufacturing hub. A main objective is to position the Peoria region to address the modern challenges facing small and midsized companies and health care professionals alike, while also identifying gaps or opportunities to accelerate the regions growing health care & manufacturing clusters.  There was plentiful discussion and has led to the planning of several follow up meetings between INTEGRIS and several other guests. While a lot of work is still to be done, it is gratifying to see progress being made in Central Illinois and we look forward to being an active participant in changing the landscape.
